DRIVER EDUCATION
Hello Everyone,
As I approach the end of my journey with the driver's education program in Hood River, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences we've shared. It has been a true pleasure and privilege to be part of your efforts to reduce teen driving risks. The lessons I've learned from all of you, both in and out of the classroom, will remain close to my heart.
The website will remain active until September 2025 to ensure that everyone understands I will no longer be instructing. While I currently don't have a solution for the next instructor, I will certainly keep you informed if someone steps up to take the lead.
Wishing you all safe and enjoyable travels!
Warm regards,
Linda Clark
Choose Your State Approved Driver Ed Course
Before getting your drivers' license:
You need to have had an instruction permit for at least 6 months - GOOD THING YOU’RE HERE!
You enroll in and successfully complete an ODOT-approved drivers ed course.
You can certify that you have at least 50 hours of driving experience with a driver who is older than 21 and has had driving privileges for at least three years.
Upon completion of an ODOT-approved drivers ed course, your provider will issue a card certifying that you successfully met all class requirements. When you present this card at the DMV while applying for a Provisional Driver License, the skills test is waived.
That’s it! No more sleepless nights, no more dudes with clipboards – just a shiny new license to drive. See you in class!
Meet Your Instructor

Linda Clark & Francis
Hello!
I’m excited to meet and partner with both student and parent. Enable teens to develop lifelong low-risk driving habits, I’m your person! I began teaching the Oregon Department of Transportation, Driver Education Course in January of 2013. How’d I get there? With a need to make extra funds to help support two college bound kids, learning and teaching traffic safety came to the forefront. With an interest in cars and the energy that I glean and enjoy from youth, this was a perfect fit. To qualify as an ODOT approved instructor one must complete the Traffic Safety Education Courses with the Research Institute at Western Oregon University. Oregon has one of the best Driver Education instructor-training programs in the entire nation.
I’m here for you!
